CLARIFIER SYSTEM

Clarifiers are required where ever the Suspended solids in raw/waste water are higher in concentration. Almost all treatment plant (Clarifiers) sedimentation tanks of circular or sometimes rectangular design. Clarifiers work on the principle of gravity settling. The heavier suspended solids settle in the clarifier due to the quiescent conditions provided in the Clarification zone. The settled solids are swept to the center well provided for collection of sludge with help of moving scraper blades. Congurations The clarifiers are designed based on the intended function & the space availability. In conventional waste water treatment plants there are normally two types: a. Primary Clarifier- Rectangular or Circulator Clarifier b.
